Day 7: Personal Finance

 

Day 7 

We started off the day with guest speaker Mr. Jafry. He gave us a talk about his life experiences working with the stock market. Mr. Jafry is a professional who currently serves as the Chairman of the Board, President, and CEO at Rushmore Energy. With a rich background in stock trading, Mr. Jafry honed his skills while working in London, where he gained a lot of knowledge and experience in the stock market. The class found him very interesting, and a lot of questions were asked.

After Mr. Jafry's intriguing talk, we went straight into presentations. Khadijah gave us a very interesting presentation about equities, Imaar gave us a great talk on contracts and Brandon presented a very important topic, debt securities. 

After presentations, we had lunch. Once our lunch break was over, Mrs. Agrawal gave us an alternative activity to our regular seminars. The activity was an assignment where we had to do some technical analysis on stocks. One thing I learnt from this assignment is when investing you should always be patient and that long term investing pays off.

Towards the end of the day, we finished a movie based on investing. 

In conclusion, my highlight of the day was Mr. Jaffry coming in. I found his story very fascinating, and it inspired me to invest when I grow up.
